About Mike
"There are singers and then there are vocal stylists, they stand apart, they have a "sound" all their own, you can't confuse them with anyone else...and when they perform, you're with them from the first note. They could sing the weather forecast and you'd listen! ...Mike Hammock is a vocal stylist", says Rich Miller, former WSM radio host and current host of the syndicated radio program Power Source Top 20 Countdown in Nashville, Tn. This easy going Texas cowboy has a style all his own that stands out from the crowd. His smooth, rich baritone vocals draws his audience in from the moment he begins. Mike Hammock started his singing career in the "opry" houses all over Texas and moved on to the honky tonks and dance halls in his native state before going on to write, record, and perform some of the most inspiring music on the Inspirational Country Music scene today.
For Mike, 2004 represented a time of growth and recognition. His song, "Angel Up There" reached No. 1 on the Inspirational Country Music Charts and he also had a top ten single with "Can't Take It With You". In November of the same year Mike was voted Male Vocalist of the Year in Inspirational Country Music. He received his award at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tn. where he performed live on the GAC network broadcast live worldwide along with The Oak Ridge Boys, Josh Turner, Jamie O'Neal, Jimmy Wayne and others.
In 2005 he completed his first video for his single, "Welcome Home Soldier", which went number one in January of 2006.
